SVGS follows the Augusta County School Board’s calendar. Students are expected to attend on days when SVGS is in session regardless of the high schools’/divisions’ differing calendar(s).
In the event of inclement weather, SVGS follows the Augusta County school schedule. Parents and students should listen/watch for announcements regarding Augusta County Schools. Parents will receive automated calls to their landline or cell phone. Students who requested notification will receive text messages.
SVGS follows the Augusta County School Board’s calendar. Changes may have to be made to the calendar because of days missed due to inclement weather. Changes are official only after actions by the Augusta County School Board. Students are expected to attend on days when SVGS is in session regardless of their high school’s calendar.
SVGS activities begin at 7:15 AM and end at 11:30 AM. Formal class periods are scheduled from 7:40 until 10:55 a.m. The day begins with the “Minute of Silence” required by the Code of Virginia 22.1-203. The “Minute of Silence” is followed by an invitation to join in the Pledge of Allegiance, also required by state regulations and school board policy.
SVGS facilities are usually available after school until 4:00 PM for students’ use. However, if students need to come back to SVGS after school, they must check with the teachers to make sure someone will be here.
